Within the CDFI [ community development financial institution] space, we are a nonprofit loan fund. We have a relatively small asset size, just under $20 million. When I joined it was just under $5 million. We've increased our asset size and our staff. That story I'm proud of, but it's also indicative of the industry.
I don't know if my journey is normal, but certainly there does seem to be some interdisciplinary play in the field, where you either have a finance and business background or you fell into the field and fell in love.
