"A water main break is causing road closures in Brampton, Ont., Thursday, though it's expected to be repaired later in the day, according to a Peel Region spokesperson. Repairs on a water main near the intersection of Queen Street E. and Central Park Drive were scheduled to start Wednesday night due to a leak, Amie Miles, a spokesperson for Peel Region, said in a statement Thursday. But the water main broke before repairs were completed, she said, flooding roads at the intersection early Thursday morning, she said."
"Central Park Drive is closed between Queen Street E. and Hanover Road, and westbound traffic is down to one lane on Queen Street E. at the intersection with Central Park Drive, Peel police said in a post on social media just before 1 a.m. Thursday. Crews are on site working to repair the break, according to Miles' statement. Peel police are asking the public to avoid the area while repairs are underway Thursday."
A water main broke near the intersection of Queen Street E. and Central Park Drive in Brampton, causing flooding and multiple road closures. Central Park Drive is closed between Queen Street E. and Hanover Road, and westbound traffic on Queen Street E. is limited to one lane at the intersection. Crews are on site repairing the break and repairs are expected to take most of the day. Flooding occurred because catch basins on Central Park Drive were plugged with snow and prevented drainage; the basins have since been cleared. Several addresses temporarily lack water while restoration work is underway and most addresses are being returned to service as repairs progress.
