"In a news release issued Friday, police said the teen is facing charges including attempted murder and discharging a firearm in a reckless manner linked to the shooting outside York Memorial Collegiate Institute on Wednesday. The incident happened at 11:54 a.m. that day, in the Keele Street and Donald Avenue area. Investigators say that two groups of people exchanged gunfire across Keele Street in front of the school. Investigators have previously said they believe the incident was targeted."
"A 31-year-old woman who was driving in the area at the time was hit by gunfire, as was the 17-year-old who now faces charges, police say. Both victims were taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Other charges the teen now faces include unauthorized possession of a firearm, aggravated assault, and failing to comply with the terms of his probation. Another person who was arrested at the scene was later released, police say."
