Service Canada has stopped mailing out 85,000 passports due to a labour dispute with Canada Post, impacting Canadians just before the busy holiday season.
By holding residential mail several days in advance of a work stoppage, Service Canada has reduced the risk of having any passports held in Canada Post distribution centres.
Canadians who urgently need a passport should contact the Passport Program or request in-person service to transfer their application to a Service Canada centre.
