Rogers plan backfires CEO sends subordinate to appear before committee, but MPs won't have it | CBC News
Briefly

"They... did a rope-a-dope," said NDP MP Brian Masse, reflecting the frustration expressed by committee members regarding Rogers Communications' attempt to avoid accountability by sending a subordinate instead of CEO Tony Staffieri.
"This is pathetic," Conservative MP Rick Perkins remarked, criticizing CEO Tony Staffieri's earlier refusals to cooperate with committee invitations, highlighting a concerning pattern of evasion from the leadership of Rogers.
Conservative MP Michelle Rempel Garner stated, "I think what we're experiencing here is much like the service customers experience with Rogers... they think we're stupid, colleagues, they really do," expressing disdain for the lack of respect shown towards the committee.
A Rogers spokesperson claimed Staffieri did not appear due to "an unforeseen scheduling conflict" but assured that he would comply with the summons for next week.
