Ontario Premier Doug Ford reiterated plans to introduce legislation banning medical testing on cats and dogs, saying the criteria will be short and simple. The policy focus is on animals considered pets, with Ford stating that dogs and cats should not be used for experimentation. The announcement followed an investigative report describing researchers inducing prolonged heart attacks in dogs before euthanizing them. St. Joseph's Health Care London said it would immediately end research involving dogs after consultations with the province. The premier said he discouraged the testing but did not confirm ordering its immediate cessation, and the government is still examining options and timelines.
You aren't going to use pets cats or dogs to experiment any longer. Simple as that. We just don't do that. It's cruel and it's not acceptable.
They're part of our families Go with the mice, go with the rats, no problem but these are pets,
I can't believe they got away with that this long.
