Germany becomes the third European country, after Malta and Luxembourg, to legalise adult recreational use. And the law makes it one of the most liberal among developed economies.
The cannabis law lowers the barrier for doctors to prescribe medical marijuana normally, rather than restricting it to chronic or serious illnesses.
Beginning April 1st, adults can carry up to 25 grams, keep 50 grams at home, and grow three plants. Clubs can distribute marijuana from July 1st, with specific rules for members.
