Canada head coach Jesse Marsch said Alphonso Davies will play at the World Cup but likely will not be ready by June 12. Bayern and Canada agreed Davies should continue initial recovery treatment until May 28. After that, he will have a few days away, and on May 31 rehab will resume to prepare him physically to succeed and join the team. Marsch said both sides are working together to improve the situation and that Davies has trust across both locations despite frustration. Marsch added that Davies is excited to return, and he was advised to take days after treatment to recharge emotionally and psychologically before joining the team for full-intensity preparation.
