India has implemented an immediate ban on the importation of goods from or transiting through Pakistan in response to rising tensions following a deadly attack in Kashmir that left 26 tourists dead. The ban, issued by India's Directorate General of Foreign Trade, applies to all goods with no exceptions. Concurrently, Pakistan's military claimed a successful test launch of its Abdali missile system, emphasizing military preparedness amidst escalating hostilities along the Line of Control, where both nations continue to engage in skirmishes.
"Direct or indirect Import or transit of all goods originating in or exported from Pakistan... shall be prohibited with immediate effect, until further orders," a notification by India's Commerce Ministry read.
"The launch was aimed at ensuring the operational readiness of troops and validating key technical parameters, including the missile's advanced navigation system and enhanced manoeuvrability features."
Tensions continue to soar between India and Pakistan Following the attack in Kashmir's Pahalgam where 26 tourists were killed, New Delhi and Islamabad closed the Wagah Attari border.
