Casey Stoney found herself stuck in England after her agent informed her of her dismissal from the San Diego Wave, leading to visa issues and homelessness for her family. Despite the unforeseen challenges, Stoney explored her dedication to football and has now taken on the role of Canada's national team coach. Formerly the manager of San Diego Wave, where she achieved significant success in her first two seasons, she is now excited to return to coaching at the international level, focusing on developing her players and the team's success.
"When I got fired, it terminated our visas with immediate effect whilst I was in the UK, pretty much rendering me and my partner homeless, with three children."
"I saw the job as a long-term project, leading the San Diego Wave to top spots and playoff semi-finals, yet the third season faltered."
