Gas prices have plunged by 15 cents in Florida and even more in Miami. Here's a look
Briefly

Gas prices in Florida have dropped significantly, with an average decrease of 15 cents statewide and 17 cents in the Miami area. This trend is attributed to a reduction in crude oil prices, which recently soared due to weather impacts and sanctions, but now align closer to earlier 2023 levels. North Florida boasts prices below $3 per gallon, making it the more affordable region compared to South Florida. Notably, prices across various cities reflect these changes, aiding residents and travelers in budget considerations.
"The discount at the pump came as a result of a decline in the price of crude oil," said Mark Jenkins, spokesperson, for AAA - The Auto Club Group.
Several North Florida areas are averaging less than $3 a gallon as the region remains the cheapest to get gas in the state, in some places about 25 cents less per gallon than South Florida.
