"Two to 10 centimeters of snow is expected throughout the day on Sunday, said Victoria Nurse, a meteorologist with Environment Canada. We are seeing lesser amounts of snow accumulation closer to Lake Ontario compared to areas further inland, she said. Nurse added that areas further inland, such as Vaughan, Markham and Brampton, could see as much as five centimeters of snow by Sunday afternoon. Temperatures on Sunday are forecast for a high of 1 C and a low of -5 C at night, according to the national weather agency's website."
"Winter is on its way. It's coming whether we like it or not, he said. It could make for slower driving conditions and a little more challenging times if you're going to be behind the wheel. Schmidt adds that in addition to winter tires, drivers should check washer fluid levels and get wheel fasteners retorqued ahead of the snowy season ahead."
Environment Canada forecasts 2 to 10 centimeters of snow across the Greater Toronto Area on Sunday, with lesser accumulations nearer Lake Ontario and heavier totals inland. Inland communities such as Vaughan, Markham and Brampton could receive around five centimeters by Sunday afternoon. Temperatures will reach about 1 C during the day and drop to near -5 C overnight. Saturday is expected to remain drier and warmer with little snow, while Monday may see flurries and a low near -3 C. Motorists are advised to install winter tires, expect slower driving, allow extra space and check fluid levels and wheel fasteners.
