Hundreds of firefighters fought an intense blaze in Jasper, Alberta, turning the town into a hell-scape of flame-licked treetops and burned buildings.
Nearly 140 square miles of Jasper National Park had been destroyed by the wildfires, with evacuation orders and bans on new visitors in place.
