The TTC, which took control after a 30-day trial, did not confirm an opening date when asked. Major construction began in 2019 and finished last fall, about four years behind schedule. The 11-kilometre, primarily above-ground Line 6 will have 18 stops between Humber College and Finch West, connecting with Line 1. Mayor Olivia Chow said the line would hopefully open before the Christmas holiday. The line is expected to carry more than 51,000 passengers each weekday.
