The Sobey Art Award, now celebrating its 22nd year, has named six finalists representing various regions across Canada, each receiving C$25,000. The award includes a major exhibition at the National Gallery of Canada from October to February 2026, with a total prize pool of C$465,000. The winner will be announced on November 8, receiving C$100,000. The artists' works reflect contemporary Canadian identity through various mediums, showcasing the dynamic nature of Canada's art scene amidst diverse challenges, as noted by the Sobey Art Foundation and National Gallery officials.
