"According to GO Transit's website, several early morning trains between Kitchener Go and Union Station have been cancelled due to track repairs. It said an eastbound train will run from Acton Go from 8:45 a.m., making all stops to Union except at Etobicoke North GO, and another eastbound train will run from Mount Pleasant Go around 8:42 a.m."
"Track work is also taking place between Guildwood GO and Rouge Hill GO impacting Lakeshore East trains. However trains will still travel through the area at a reduced speed and arrive at their final destinations after a 20 to 30 minute delay, said GO Transit's website."
"Customers are being advised to consider taking the Milton line or Bramalea GO as an alternative."
GO Transit faced significant service disruptions Friday morning due to unplanned track repairs on two major lines. The Kitchener line experienced multiple train cancellations between Kitchener GO and Union Station, with replacement eastbound trains departing from Acton GO at 8:45 a.m. and Mount Pleasant GO at 8:42 a.m. Customers were advised to use the Milton line or Bramalea GO as alternatives. The Lakeshore East line had track work between Guildwood GO and Rouge Hill GO, causing trains to operate at reduced speeds with 20-30 minute delays. The 8:39 a.m. train from Durham College was cancelled. Lakeshore West trains experienced minimal impact with only 5-10 minute delays.
