"It was like being in a washer,"
"When we finally came to a stop ... we were upside down, there was jet fuel smell. There was fire."
"There isn't a day that goes by that somehow it doesn't come up or impact my life in some way, you know, everything from my job to my family, to my health,"
"It's just been a very eventful year."
Delta Air Lines Flight 4819 from Minneapolis, operated by Endeavor Air, crashed on Feb. 17, 2025, during descent into Toronto Pearson. The aircraft came down at an abnormally high speed, hit the runway hard, broke its landing gear, slid, flipped and burst into flames. All 76 passengers and four crew survived, while 21 people were taken to hospital. Passengers described being upside down, smelling jet fuel and seeing fire. Survivors reported significant physical injuries and ongoing mental-health impacts, including anxiety, sleep disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and depression, requiring therapy and medication.
