Canadian businessman boosts Canadian medallists' money in Paris | CBC Sports
Briefly

Canadian health-care technology entrepreneur Sanjay Malaviya has renewed his $5,000 grants per medal for Canada's Olympic and Paralympic medallists, extending to Paris and the 2026 Winter Games.
Malaviya's grants add to the existing podium prize money given by the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic committees, making gold medals worth $25,000, silver $20,000, and bronze $15,000.
An additional $4 million fund will financially reward Canada's Paralympic medallists for the first time, matching the bonuses received by Olympic athletes since 2006.
The increase in prize money aims to provide equitable recognition and support for both Canadian Olympic and Paralympic medallists, aligning their rewards at the same level.
