A suspect device was located near Foynes, Co Limerick, close to the Aughinish Alumina factory at around 3.30pm on Friday. Following its discovery, a cordon was established, and the Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was called to examine the device. The device has been removed from the area and will undergo further examination. On Saturday morning, a technical examination of the scene is ongoing, and a Garda spokesperson confirmed that an investigation is underway.
