The Heather Lands initiative aims to provide attainable housing by offering up to 2,600 units at 60% market value, primarily targeting middle-income buyers.
"For too long, the idea of home ownership has been out of reach for way too many people who earn a decent income..." said Premier David Eby.
The cost to the province is projected at $670 million, supporting a sustainable approach to home ownership with a 40% financing model for buyers.
Strict oversight will be implemented to curb property speculation and ensure that the homes are used as principal residences by the buyers.
