
"Two people were arrested after a demonstration outside the Munk Debates featuring former Israeli officials in downtown Toronto on Wednesday, police say. An Oakville man, 24, has been charged with assaulting a peace officer, disarming a peace officer, criminal harassment and uttering threats, Toronto police said in a news release Thursday. A Toronto woman, 21, has been charged with criminal harassment, police said."
"According to police, the man and woman went to a demonstration outside Meridian Hall, near Front Street E. and Yonge Street, where some 200 people were protesting. Police went to the protest at about 6:30 p.m. As officers were directing protesters onto the sidewalk, one person allegedly assaulted an officer and tried to disarm another before fleeing into the crowd."

Police say about 200 people protested near Meridian Hall at Front Street E. and Yonge Street. Officers arrived around 6:30 p.m. while directing protesters onto the sidewalk, one person allegedly assaulted an officer and attempted to disarm another before fleeing into the crowd. Police allege the man and woman later followed and threatened a person who had left the event. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
