A vehicle traveling west in the eastbound lanes of Wilshire Boulevard drove onto a busy Santa Monica sidewalk shortly after 9 p.m., striking multiple pedestrians. Two victims were pronounced dead at the scene and two others were transported to hospitals and are expected to survive. The driver fled the scene on foot and a Dodge Charger was left stopped against a tree between 14th and Euclid streets. The Major Accident Response Team is leading a criminal investigation and police are actively searching for a suspect. The suspect is described as a Black male, about 6 feet tall, last seen wearing a red hat, black sweater, and black shoes; anyone with information is urged to contact investigators.
