According to authorities, officers arrived at the location and found a 60-year-old driver, a Hayward resident, who was cooperative and provided a statement about the incident."

The 59-year-old woman and the 6-year-old boy involved in the collision were taken to a nearby hospital, where the woman eventually succumbed to her injuries. The boy suffered from facial fractures and has been reunited with his family members, authorities said."
