The collision happened at around 6:20 p.m. at the crosswalk near the intersection of West Tennyson Road and Baldwin Street, said the Hayward Police Department. According to authorities, officers arrived at the location and found a 60-year-old driver, a Hayward resident, who was cooperative and provided a statement about the incident."
""The driver's identity is not being released at this time," said the Hayward Police Department in a statement on Sunday. Authorities ruled out drugs or alcohol as a factor in the accident. The 59-year-old woman and the 6-year-old boy involved in the collision were taken to a nearby hospital, where the woman eventually succumbed to her injuries. The boy suffered from facial fractures and has been reunited with his family members, authorities said."
