Wildfire outside Reno shuts down I-580 in Nevada, burns down homes
Briefly

The blaze, dubbed the Davis Fire, began Saturday afternoon with the first flames spotted in Davis Creek Regional Park, a 200-acre expanse of pine forests and sage-dotted desert.
By Saturday evening, the fire had grown to 1,500 acres with no containment, closing Interstate 580 in both directions from Damonte Ranch Parkway in south Reno to College Parkway in Carson City.
The Nevada Department of Transportation requested that drivers avoid traveling in the Mount Rose Highway and Washoe Valley areas due to the presence of emergency vehicles.
The Washoe County Sheriff's Office issued a series of evacuations, with hundreds of people having been evacuated and a map online that will be updated with new information.
