"Farm workers and immigrants are being terrorized," UFW Foundation directing attorney Sofia Corona said. Agents are racially profiling individuals, focusing on farm workers who use specific highways to commute to work.
Rosa Lopez, a senior policy advocate with the ACLU of Southern California, advised, "Please remind people if stopped by CBP to invoke their right to remain silent and to ask for an attorney. It's crucial for their protection."
The Rapid Response Network of Kern County is providing resources for those detained. They highlight the importance of vigilance within the community to report any CBP/ICE activity.
"Regardless of immigration status, all individuals in the United States have rights, such as the right to remain silent and to have representation in court," emphasized community advocates.
