Two Towns Battle For Title Of Tallest Christmas Tree | KQED
Briefly

In Eureka, Sequoia Park Zoo is preparing to unveil a massive living Christmas tree, claiming it may steal the title of "tallest in the nation" from Ferndale.
According to North Coast Journal reporter Jennifer Kumiko Cahill, the Christmas tree competition between Eureka and Ferndale is not just about height, but also about seasonal tourism attraction.
Cahill mentions, "The Christmas time draw is very much Ferndale. If you wanted to go to a town that looked like the little miniature Christmas town... that's Ferndale."
Officials at the Sequoia Park Zoo are not only preparing for the main tree, but they have a backup tree ready to be decorated for the holidays.
