"Kembery was in the prime of her life. She was working two jobs to make ends meet, and she was a loving mother. This was a tragic, senseless act of violence that is fortunately extremely rare in our city. These arrests represent an important step toward justice for Kembery and her family."
"One of the arrested men is Gerzon Chirinos of Sunnyvale, also known as Gerzon Chirinos-Munguia, who is reportedly the father of Chirinos-Flores's five-year-old son. As the Sunnyvale DPS explains, Chirinos had a previous domestic violence arrest on his record, involving another partner, from 2018."
Kembery Chirinos-Flores, a 24-year-old Mountain View resident, was fatally shot in her car on January 7 at Plaza Del Rey mobile home park in Sunnyvale. After two months without arrests, the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety announced the arrests of two suspects: Gerzon Chirinos-Munguia of Sunnyvale, the father of Chirinos-Flores's five-year-old son with a prior 2018 domestic violence arrest, and Alfonso Inestroza-Martinez of Hollister, who also had an outstanding murder warrant from New Jersey. Both men were charged with murder. Police Chief Daniel Pistor described Chirinos-Flores as a hardworking mother employed at two jobs and characterized the killing as a tragic, senseless act of violence.
