Two Mega Millions tickets sold in California won $648,035 each after matching five winning numbers but missing the Mega Ball. The Mega Millions jackpot now grows to an estimated $514 million for the next drawing.
The winning California tickets were sold at a 7-Eleven store in Antioch and a Bevbox in San Leandro, both near the San Francisco Bay Area. Meanwhile, a ticket sold in Louisiana won $3 million by matching five numbers plus the Megaplier.
The Mega Millions jackpot has been unclaimed since September 10, when a Texas player won the grand prize of $810 million. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 302,575,350.
Lottery ticket sales vary by state, costing $2 per ticket currently, but will increase to $5 starting in April. Drawings occur on Tuesdays and Fridays.
