Time is running out in San Jose Viet Museum dispute - San Jose Spotlight
"To our knowledge, the (Immigrant Resettlement and Cultural Center) dispute remains unresolved,"
"We are hopeful to hear directly from a group in the coming days and remain committed to a prompt and civil outcome. The Viet Museum has been closed for too long, and we are excited to reopen it in partnership with an operator who understands the parameters outlined by the city and our board of directors."
"We suggested arbitration, the other side did not want arbitration,"
A governance dispute over the Immigrant Resettlement and Cultural Center, which operates the Viet Museum at History Park, has left the museum closed for about a year. History San Jose, the city-contracted nonprofit that manages History Park, set a Dec. 31 deadline for opposing board factions to resolve control or lose management authority. Two rival groups of board members each claim legitimacy and have taken the matter to civil court. One group proposed arbitration, which the other rejected. History San Jose seeks an operator who will meet city and board parameters to reopen the museum.
