A semi-truck stalled at 1st Street and E. Alma Avenue with a damaged axle and nearly 80,000 pounds of scrap metal. San Jose Fire Department said power was shut off because the truck could damage a nearby power pole if it rolled over. The Sacred Heart Community Service building was evacuated as a precaution. No injuries were reported. Officials estimated power restoration around 4:45 p.m. Traffic was impacted in all directions, and drivers were asked to use alternative routes while firefighters remained on scene.
