Four people were killed and at least 14 others were shot Saturday night during a mass shooting at a child's birthday party near Stockton. Dispatchers received reports shortly before 6 p.m. near the 1900 block of Lucile Avenue in an unincorporated area just north of the Stockton city limits. The shooting occurred in a banquet hall in a commercial area adjacent to a Dairy Queen and other businesses. Both children and adults sustained gunshot wounds. Investigators described the case as active and ongoing and said early indications suggest the incident may have been targeted. Local officials expressed shock and pledged resources to find perpetrators.
