San Jose: Police announce pedestrian, bicyclist deaths from December collisions
"In the most recent collision, police say that just after 11 a.m. on Dec. 16, a man driving a 2024 Lexus sedan west on East Brokaw Road was crossing North First Street with a green light when he hit a man riding south on an electric bicycle. The injured rider was taken to a hospital, where he died Friday, police said. His name was not publicly released pending his formal identification and notification of his next of kin by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner's Office."
"Police also announced the Saturday death of a pedestrian who was hit by a motorist near Cataldi Park on Dec. 7. According to traffic investigators, a woman driving a 2007 Nissan Altima was traveling west on Cataldi Drive when she hit a man walking on the roadway in the same direction. The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was initially listed in stable condition, but died Saturday, police said."
