A 32-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle in a crosswalk at Woodside Road and Veterans Boulevard shortly after midnight. Responding officers found her unconscious and without a pulse about 100 feet east of the intersection and began CPR; medical personnel later took over and pronounced her deceased at Stanford Medical Center. The driver reported proceeding on a green light and stopped after hearing an impact. A witness walking ahead said the victim had the crosswalk signal and that the light did not appear to change. The driver cooperated and tested negative for alcohol and drugs. The vehicle was towed and the incident remains under investigation; anyone with information is asked to contact the RCPD Traffic Unit.
