Post obtains copy of letter firing Aenlle
"Victor Aenlle, the former San Mateo County Sheriff Chief of Staff who was accused of mistreating sheriff's employees, was ordered to turn in his badge, gun and any other county property today (Nov. 21)."
"That's according to a letter Aenlle received from Sheriff Ken Binder, who replaced Christina Corpus."
"The Board of Supervisors replaced Corpus after investigations found that she and Aenlle harassed and retaliated against employees they believed were disloyal."
"Aenlle was a volunteer reserve deputy for 17 years. He led Corpus' campaign for sheriff in 2022 and catapulted from a volunteer to chief of staff, part of Corpus' inner circle. His promotion was conspicuous because he had never held a management job in law enforcement before."
Victor Aenlle, former San Mateo County Sheriff Chief of Staff, was ordered to surrender his badge, gun and any county property on Nov. 21. Sheriff Ken Binder sent the letter and replaced Christina Corpus. The Board of Supervisors removed Corpus after investigations determined she and Aenlle harassed and retaliated against employees they believed were disloyal. Binder did not state a reason for dismissing Aenlle in the letter; Aenlle described the action as political. Aenlle served as a volunteer reserve deputy for 17 years and rose from volunteer to chief of staff after leading Corpus' 2022 campaign despite lacking prior management experience in law enforcement.
