Pittsburg considers Brentwood official for city manager position
"Pittsburg is a city with a rich history, and an exciting future ahead, said Gale, adding he looks forward to working with the City Council, community, city staff and businesses. Together, we will strengthen the local economy, enhance public services, and continue making Pittsburg a place where families and businesses can thrive, said Gale. I'm excited to get started and honored to join a community that values collaboration, innovation, and opportunity for all."
"His extensive experience in executive leadership, economic development, community partnerships, and municipal operations will be a tremendous asset as we continue to grow and position our city for long-term success, said Killings in a statement on Nov. 7. We're confident he will make a positive impact, and we look forward to welcoming him to Team Pittsburg."
Darin Gale is the anticipated selection for Pittsburg city manager, with City Council review scheduled for Nov. 17 and a potential start date of Dec. 15. Gale has served as Brentwood assistant city manager since 2022 and filled the interim city manager role after Tim Ogden's April departure; Brentwood later appointed G. Harold Duffey permanently. Pittsburg hired Peckham & McKenney following City Manager Garrett Evans's September retirement to assist the recruitment. Gale holds an MBA from Drexel and a bachelor's in economics from Sacramento State and previously worked as senior development project manager for the city of Sacramento. Gale expresses plans to strengthen the local economy, enhance public services, and collaborate with council, staff, businesses, and the community.
