Young has also served as finance director for the Northern California city of Clearlake, assistant director of procurement operations for Dallas, Texas, and as a contract manager and administrator for San Antonio, Texas, according to her LinkedIn profile."

Prior to Pinole, she was city manager of Sweet Home, Oregon, from 2022 to 2024 and has held finance and procurement roles in Clearlake, Dallas and San Antonio. The city said information on an interim city manager and nationwide recruitment for a permanent replacement will be announced later. Mayor Cameron Sasai expressed appreciation and optimism about finding a leader to advance community priorities. News of the departure followed a recent police chief change.
