Park Fire crews bracing for erratic fire behavior ahead of thunderstorm

The weather, with temperatures hovering around 100 degrees, could lead to 'extreme fire behavior' and cause the blaze to expand in different directions.
"You could be in an area where there is no fire near you and the lightning strikes, and next thing you know, there's a fire near you," he said. "It's very unpredictable and it's just another thing with Mother Nature we have to worry about."
"Erratic gusts can cause the fire to go in a direction [fire crews] are not expecting or can cause it to spread," Rasch said. "It can also do the opposite, maybe blow it back into an area that's already burned."
