"Two people died and their children were injured in a solo-vehicle crash in El Dorado County on Sunday, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP said a car struck a tree on Highway 50, just east of Kyburz, around 3:11 p.m. An 8-year-old boy and an 11-year-old girl were in the car and suffered major injuries. It took hours to get the children out of the vehicle, according to CHP. Their parents were determined dead at the scene."
