On Friday, officers with the Mountain View Police Department found and detained Curiel in Mountain View. Palo Alto detectives later arrested him."
On February 3, a woman in her 40s was attacked on East Meadow Drive in Palo Alto while walking in her neighborhood. A man approached from behind, forced her to the ground, and demanded money. When she refused and called for help, he kicked her multiple times before fleeing. The victim sustained pain and bruising, requiring medical treatment. Through investigation involving Palo Alto Police and the Santa Clara County Probation Department, authorities identified the suspect as 26-year-old John Curiel of San Jose. Mountain View Police located and detained Curiel on Friday, and Palo Alto detectives subsequently arrested him. He was booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail.
