A robbery in East Oakland left one man shot and another pistol-whipped at 11:20 p.m. Wednesday in the 1400 block of 81st Avenue near International Boulevard. Both 37-year-old victims were sitting in a parked vehicle when two suspects stopped their car, including one wearing a mask and armed with a gun. The driver was pistol-whipped and robbed of his wallet, which contained cash and personal items. When the driver appeared likely to resist, a shot was fired that missed him and struck the other man in the shoulder.
