Briefly

A man was killed and five others were injured in multiple shootings in Oakland from Saturday afternoon to early Sunday. The first incident occurred at 2:05 p.m., resulting in the death of an unidentified man in North Oakland, with a suspect arrested later. Other victims included a 26-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man, both shot in separate incidents. Investigators have not established motives for the shootings and no arrests have been made for some cases. Oakland has reported 42 homicides this year, fewer than last year's 56 homicides at this time.
The fatal shooting happened about 2:05 p.m. Saturday in the 500 block of Aileen Street in North Oakland. An unidentified man was found shot outside. He died at the scene.
A man in his 60s was later arrested as a suspect, police said. His name has not been released and police have not yet said how he was linked to the shooting.
The killing is the 42nd homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. At this time last year, police had investigated 56 homicides in the city.
A motive for the shooting is under investigation and police are trying to determine if the man was the intended target.
