Eliminating the Multifamily Housing Program and reducing funds for the Homeless Housing Grant program are included in California Gov. Gavin Newsom's plan to address the $27 billion state shortfall.
The proposed budget also involves ending the Foreclosure Intervention Housing Preservation Program and the Adaptive Reuse Program but includes an additional $500 million in state low-income housing tax credits.
