Two polls released immediately before Election Day show strong California support for Proposition 50, with the Public Policy Institute of California at 56% Yes and Berkeley's Institute of Governmental Studies at 60% Yes. Proposition 50 would temporarily redraw district lines and could add five Democrats to the U.S. House, a response to Texas's plan that could add five Republicans. The importance of the outcome registered at 68% among respondents, the highest in two decades of that question. Voting intention is sharply partisan: over 90% of Democrats favor Yes while over 90% of Republicans favor No. No-on-50 campaign data indicate No voters may vote later and in person.
