"A motorcyclist has died after a crash Saturday afternoon on the portion of Interstate 80 through Berkeley. The motorcyclist, who has not yet been identified, was involved in a crash with two other vehicles in the highway's eastbound lanes shortly near University Avenue after 3 p.m., according to a California Highway Patrol spokesperson. Medics pronounced the rider dead at the scene, police said."
"The drivers of the other cars, an Acura TSX and a Honda Accord, stayed at the scene and were cooperating with the investigation. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation, CHP Officer Markys Rivera said in an email. At this time impairment does not appear to be a factor. The crash caused an eight-mile traffic backup and the full closure of I-80's eastbound lanes, according to ABC 7."
