Mandatory evacuations ordered for fast-moving fire in Tahoe National Forest, authorities say
Briefly

A fast-moving wildfire dubbed the Bear Fire ignited Monday afternoon on the east side of Tahoe National Forest, quickly advancing to approximately 64 acres by 4:30 p.m.
Due to the rapid growth of the Bear Fire, the Sierra County Sheriff's Office issued mandatory evacuations for residents in evacuation zone SIE-E031, located south of Loyalton.
The presence of the fire, identified by the U.S. Forest Service, necessitated urgent action as fire officials monitored its expansion and impact on the local community.
Sierra Brooks, the affected area, is situated around 20 miles north of Truckee, underscoring the wildfire's potential risk to nearby towns and infrastructures.
