Man arrested for two robberies within a half hour
"Sheldon was with three others when they approached a teenager at 10:16 a.m. and pulled out handguns, threatening him, Wagstaffe said. One of the men grabbed the teen's iPhone and smashed it into the ground to delay calling the police, Wagstaffe said. The men then stole the teen's $800 Balenciaga shoes, $120 Valentino cologne and $800 cash he had in his pocket, according to Wagstaffe."
"All three men fled in a green Kia Soul SUV, and 30 minutes later, Sheldon attempted to take a purse from a 30-year-old woman at the intersection of Lytton Avenue and Webster Street, according to Palo Alto police. The woman negotiated with Sheldon and was able to keep some of her items in her bag, but he fled the scene, police said in a statement. Police searched for the car and found it near the intersection of University Avenue and Woodland Avenue in Palo Alto."
Andru Sheldon, 20, was arrested after an armed robbery at Jack Farrell Park in East Palo Alto where he and three others threatened a 15-year-old with handguns. The group smashed the teen's iPhone to prevent a call and stole $800 Balenciaga shoes, $120 Valentino cologne and $800 cash. About 30 minutes later Sheldon attempted to snatch a purse from a 30-year-old woman in Palo Alto; she negotiated and retained some items before he fled. Police located a green Kia Soul SUV reported stolen from Suisun City, pursued it, and arrested Sheldon after the SUV struck another car and two suspects escaped. Sheldon pleaded innocent and remains in custody on $5,000 bail.
