A shooting occurred just after 7:30 a.m. near the Food Maxx at 4500 Lone Tree Way in Antioch after someone attempted to break into the store. Police responded and secured the Food Maxx scene. Officers also worked a separate crime scene in the Southwood Court residential neighborhood where K-9 units searched garbage cans. Authorities reported it is unclear whether the two incidents, or this shooting and another earlier one in the city within 12 hours, are related; a police statement is being prepared.
