"Prosecutors alleged Prowell's first attack dated back to July 20, 2021, when he met 51-year-old Miguel Angel King after the two connected on a dating app. King was fatally shot and his car stolen. Investigators found the vehicle more than a week later, abandoned several miles from Prowell's home. Forensic evidence pulled from the car tied Prowell to King's death, according to the district attorney's office. Nearly a month later, on Aug. 14, King's remains were discovered in the Angeles National Forest."
"Two years later, on Aug. 21, 2023, Prowell allegedly arranged to meet Robert Gutierrez, 53, about a mile from Prowell's Inglewood home. Gutierrez's family reported him missing two days later. His body has not been found, but investigators said they discovered his car in Prowell's garage when he was arrested last week. Additional evidence tied him to the killing, officials said. The most recent attack occurred on Feb. 22, 2025, when Prowell and a 40-year-old man agreed to meet after interacting on the same dating app, officials said."
Authorities charged Rockim Prowell, 34, with two counts of murder including the special circumstance of multiple murders, one count of attempted murder, two counts of carjacking and second-degree burglary, and one count of assault with a deadly weapon. Prosecutors allege Prowell used an online dating app to lure victims. On July 20, 2021, 51-year-old Miguel Angel King was fatally shot and his car stolen; King's remains were later found in the Angeles National Forest and forensic evidence from the vehicle tied Prowell to the death.
