After several more arrests on suspicion of violating parole, burglary, and possessing a weapon in jail from 2016-2017, McMaster was convicted of elder abuse twice, in 2023 and 2024, and accused during that time of attacking a cellmate by allegedly biting the victim's ear, punching him in the head,"
Jeffrey McMaster Jr., 44, warned police he might be a danger after a 2008 attack in which officers arrested him on suspicion of attempting to rape a woman inside his bedroom, crushing her with his body weight. He told police he had sexually assaulted others and said, "I am not fit for society if keep doing s like this," according to court records. He was sentenced to four years in 2009 and required to register as a sex offender. After further arrests he was convicted of elder abuse in 2023 and 2024 and is accused of beating 49-year-old Leslie Marshall, who died Feb. 2 at a residential hotel in Oakland.
