The 1,600-acre Dos Rios State Park is the largest public-private floodplain restoration project in California. It will be the first state park to open since 2014.
"This community has been underserved as it relates to parks. The San Joaquin Valley has the lowest per capita open space and parks compared to any other region in the state. That's why this is so profound," says Governor Newsom.
"Everything is an expression of the abundance that is California. It shouldn't be taken for granted," Governor Newsom emotionally stated about the natural resources in the state.
